Dennis Quaid Divorce [NWES], Dennis Quaid filed for divorce from his wife, Kimberly, after 8 years of marriage. On Dec. 1, TMZ reported that Quaid officially filed papers just 6 weeks after Kimberly filed for legal separation.
This was something expected given the fact that Kimberly actually filed divorce papers back in March. A month later, she changed her mind for whatever reason and then decided to go the route of legal separation. Quaid, however, is now ending things.
"Quaid is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple's 4-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe. He is also offering to pay spousal support," TMZ reports.
Dennis Quaid and his wife's divorce won't be official for another 6 months, which is typical in the state of California. As TMZ points out, the pair moved to California over the summer and it is the law in that state that a person cannot file for divorce until they have lived there for 6 months. It has been about 6 months now, so this was more than likely the plan all along.
It is unknown why the two have decided to split, but it is safe to assume that "irreconcilable differences" will be the cause—at least that's what will undoubtedly be listed on the court documents. Everyone seemed to think that it was only a matter of time for these two, given their not-so-subtle hints over the past year.
