Aguilera's Racy Outfit Mocked, Chelsea Handler has gotten a lot of mileage out of jokes about Christina Aguilera's questionable fashion decisions, so we were a tad bit worried when the singer appeared on "Chelsea Lately" last month and the two women appeared to make nice. We wondered: Will that be the end of Handler's Aguilera jokes? Thankfully, the answer to that question is no.
On Thursday, the talk show host welcomed Blake Shelton as a guest on her E! talk show, so to have some fun with the strapping country singer, she dressed like his "The Voice" co-star Aguilera.
For the segment, Handler donned a black bustier bodysuit — a nod to Aguilera's racy star-spangled ensemble at the American Music Awards earlier this month — with fishnet stockings and black boots. The 37-year-old comedian was a little more conservative than Aguilera was, showing less cleavage and covering up with a sparkly jacket.
Shelton was in the dark about Handler's plans to wear the wild ensemble, so when he walked out and drank it all in, he immediately started laughing … and laughing. After pretending to run off the stage, the 36-year-old "Hillbilly Bone" crooner, who is married to Miranda Lambert, turned back around and cracked, "Happy Christmas to me!"
"I wanted to dress like Christina to make you more comfortable," Handler shot back. "I wanted you to feel like you were at your own job."
Handler has long poked fun at Aguilera's risqué wardrobe, so last month the 31-year-old "Your Body" singer agreed to appear on "Chelsea Lately" — but only if Handler would conduct her hosting duties without pants on as a sort of punishment. Handler complied, wearing a modified version of the outfit she wore with Shelton.
At the start of the show, Aguilera teased, "I've heard all about the sh-t Chelsea has talked about me not being a fan of wearing pants — and proudly. So when they asked me to come on I thought, 'I'll do it, if Chelsea did one thing for me…'" When Hander walked on stage — sans bottoms — Aguilera told her, "You look hot. I think it's a good look for you."
During her appearance on the show, Aguilera went on to practically spoon feed Handler new material for some of her jokes by talking about how she doesn't wear underwear. It was a true TMI moment.
Hopefully Aguilera won't hold Handler's latest prank against her — after all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
