Taylor Swift And Kate Gosselin From Wyomissing, Pennsylvania - Am I the only one who read between the lines on Tuesday morning’s (Sept. 15) broadcast of The View? Kate Gosselin of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was there as a guest co-host. And Taylor Swift was there as a guest. All very well and good. But for me, it went beyond just background noise while I was having my 11th cup of coffee.

These two ladies make me proud to be a woman. Why? Because they have both taken the high road even when the bastards who have done them wrong do not.

Gosselin, who I’ve already blogged about before for being strong in the face of adversity (that adversity being the infidelity of her soon-to-be ex Jon), asked Swift one of the most important questions on the show: “Where did you find the strength to perform after that?” (She was, of course, referring to Kanye West interrupting Swift’s acceptance speech on the MTV Video Music Awards.)

Swift answered that it was knowing people had her back that kept her going. But through it all, she never once criticized West. Then when Swift took the stage to sing her newest single, “Fifteen,” I know what Gosselin may have been thinking. That “don’t forget to look before you fall” and “wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now” are two pieces of really good advice for a girl who is 15 or more like, say, any age EVER.

Could the two of them have sat around that little couch commiserating and rambling on about how much men suck? Absolutely. For hours, probably. And they would’ve been right. But that would’ve been wrong. So they both took the high road. And, for that, they will be classy ladies forever and always.
