9/11 Images We Will Never Forget - A series of photos shows hijacked United Airlines Flight 175 as it strikes the south tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2001, and then explodes. A giant hole in the north tower shows where it was hit by American Airlines Flight 11, 43 minutes earlier. A total of 2,753 people died in the al-Qaida-sponsored terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

As the north tower of the World Trade center burns in the background, United Airlines Flight 175 is lined up to strike the south tower at 9:03 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2001. Terrorists took over that flight and also American Airlines Flight 11, crashing the planes into the twin towers.
