Check Out Kate Gosselin's Changing Looks Of 2010. She Spent A Lot Of Time At The Salon! The mother-of-eight left her bad mullet hairstyle behind in 2009 and spent most of this past year sporting long, bright blond locks and a tan.
Do you think she looks better now? Kate Gosselin has dedicated a lot of time and money trying to erase her Pennsylvania housewife image over the past 12 months. In January 2010 she turned to celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson to help her transform her super short ‘do into cascading locks.
The 35-year-old spent about 20 hours in the salon getting $7,000 worth of extensions! “I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate trying to convince her to cut her bangs,” says Ted. “I felt like she was hiding behind that front piece.” Check out the pics of her many hairstyles over the past year! “It’s good to have hair again,” says Kate.
“I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life.” But getting rid of her short, spiky mullet wasn’t so easy for her stylist. “The little short bits in the back, we called them her ‘attitude’ and getting rid of those took a long time!” Ted says.
And before she made her Dancing With the Stars debut in March, she returned to the Ted Gibson salon to replace the original extensions — which according to Us magazine, she “hated” because she thought she looked like a “bimbo” — with newer, more natural-looking long locks.
“I used everything from my line Ted Gibson: the Build It blow drying spray, the Hair Sheet styling, which is a towelette for hair that has UV absorber in it. It has vitamins A, D and E and has antioxidants and it’s great for traveling. Any time she feels like she has fly-aways or needs a little break this is a perfect product for her,” says Ted.
While Kate spent countless hours in 2010 getting her hair and nails done and working on her tan, her children –10-year-old twins Cara and Mady and 6-year-old sextuplets Joel, Collin, Aaden, Hannah, Leah, and Alexis – began to spiral out of control. Eventually two were expelled from school for behavioral problems, yet that wasn’t even enough to get Kate to skip the salon in favor of a mommy and me day.
Also gone were her frumpy mom jeans and baggy sweatshirts. Instead, Kate showed off her fit figure in sexy, slinky dresses, miniskirts and sky-high heels every time she stepped out in public.
