Halle Berry Moving To Paris

Halle Berry in court to move daughter to France, blames paparazzi, Halle Berry wants to take her 4-year-old daughter and move to Paris, France. So Halle is going to court today, August 16, 2012, to convince a judge that she should be allowed this move. She's using what I'm sure will come to be called the paparazzi defense.
The argument is that the continuous attention of the paparazzi is creating a very dangerous situation for her 4-year-old daughter Nahla. Nahla's father, model Gabriel Aubry, obviously objects to the move.

The outcome of the trial will depend upon the presentation of video evidence showing the situation created by the paparazzi and the effect upon the toddler. Halle's lawyer, Stephen Kolodny, intends to offer video that shows Halle and Nahla being what he calls terrorized by the paparazzi, including the instance where Halle had to call the Beverly Hills Police so mom

In one of those odd, ironic twists that seem to only happen among celebrities, Halle has subpoenaed paparazzo Andrew Deetz, who Halle went what TMZ calls "ballistic" on for following Nahla at school.

Sources connected with Deetz tell TMZ ... Deetz has not only been subpoenaed, he will gladly testify it's his job to be uber-aggressive.

In 1997, Princess Diana met her death in a fatal car crash while being chased through the streets of Paris by paparazzi, so the defense may indeed have merit, especially when it concerns a child of tender years.

It is now a crime in France to harass celebrities in public. This is why Halle wants to move there, to give her daughter as much of a chance for a "so-called" normal childhood as possible.

Given the celebrity status of Nahla's mom, having anything close to a normal childhood may not be possible. However, if there are ways to minimize the harm to Nahla, Halle intends to find them, even if it means moving halfway around the world.

This case has a high potential to set a precedent for the treatment of celebrities and their children by paparazzi. Consistently following adult celebrities is one thing, but the effects of these actions on their children has yet to be seen and could be damaging.
