Betty White Petition

Betty White Petition Could Lead to DNC Appearance, The Democratic National Convention opens tonight in Charlotte, and fans are hoping to see one of the most beloved women in America at the convention. Betty White is the subject of a new petition to have a role at the DNC to counter Clint Eastwood's appearance at the RNC.

"Clint Eastwood, the Republican's 'mystery guest' at the RNC, gave a bad name to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney. You know what? Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!" reads the petition.

White has publicly endorsed President Obama and has made no qualms about her choice. The petition currently has 5,564 supporters, and the number is expected to grow. Fans have also circulated a photo of White and Obama speaking in the Oval Office, which has gained a lot of interest and laughs from fans.

Unfortunately, fans may not get their wish, as White has been busy filming her two series, "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" and "Hot in Cleveland." That doesn't stop people from dreaming, though, of another appearance by their favorite "Golden Girl."

White has become known as America's Sweetheart for her sharp sense of humor and determination to keep working. Even though she is 90 years old, she still has two TV series to keep her busy and has recently published two books about her life and her beloved animals.
"When Betty talks, people listen. She is intelligent, articulate and open minded, just what we need at the DNC. Most of all she ROCKS!!!" posted Barbara Thomson on change.org.

"Betty's many years of entertaining us and many years of standing up for important causes make her the ideal response to the GOP's 'mystery' guest. Betty always comes from love, something we cannot say about Clint Eastwood. She projects a warm and loving persona to which we can all aspire," added John Cochran.
